Letter to the Editor: Covid Restrictions

Covid Restrictions

Dear Sir,

I refer to the letter in Issue 8084 entitled ‘Power belongeth unto Christ’ which Scripturally outlines where all power belongs and exposes the inconsistencies of our Government and their COVID restrictions on the public worship of Christ. Perhaps some will say, “Well, what is wrong with wearing a face mask in worship or joining an internet service from the comfort of home.” The Holy Spirit has recorded in Exodus 34 v 34 that Moses removed his face covering when going in before the Lord. Hebrews 10 v 25 states: ‘Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is……and so much the more as ye see the day approaching’ (the Greek root for the word ‘assembling’ meaning a physical coming together). Protestant history clearly records the blessing the Lord has given to Non-conformists and Covenanters alike who met when the law forbade them to.

We should also be very wary of the exponential increase in dependency on the internet during COVID restrictions. The fruit of it is being seen in school age children where months of social isolation, the addiction to social media and increased influence of on-line LBGT ideology is leading to further gender confusion (Mark 10 v 6). Revelation 16 v 14 speaks of ‘the spirits of devils, working miracles’ and the Apostle Paul, in writing to the Ephesians, speaks of the ‘prince of the power of the air’.

As the number of COVID cases increases again, even with all the vaccinations (often developed or tested using materials sourced from aborted foetuses), we are reminded of the Lord’s warning to Israel: ‘If thou will not observe to do all the words of this law (and we have trampled underfoot the Gospel too) …. that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; then the Lord will make thy plagues…of long continuance…’ (Deuteronomy 28 v 58-61).
