Kidnapped Bishop’s Wife Released Unharmed
The Church of Nigeria reports that Mrs Anuri Maduwuike, wife of Church of Nigeria Bishop Emmanuel C. Maduwuike, Bishop of Ikeduru Diocese, was kidnapped by gunmen on 8 October. She was released unharmed on 11 October.
The Most Revd David Onuohoa, Archbishop of Owerri Province said, “God answered our prayers and she was released unhurt. She has been reunited with her family.”
This is the second time that Mrs Maduwuike has been kidnapped. The first time was in 2019.
Mrs Maduwuike’s husband was consecrated in 2009 as the Pioneer Bishop at St Matthew’s Cathedral, Atta, in Imo State.
