Re-introduce the Doctrine & Practice of the BCP
In the pages of English Churchman we are made aware of parishes where the Book of Common Prayer is regularly used as the main Sunday service. Those that do so to maintain Reformation convictions are to be commended. I found myself wondering whether, in this less literate age, there are many parishes using modern renderings of the BCP in their main services. I am thinking especially of An English Prayer Book from Church Society (1994) and Holy Communion Order Two in Contemporary Language, found in Common Worship. Might these be useful resources to re-introduce the doctrine and practice of the BCP, particularly in parishes where the 1662 order is virtually unknown?
