Bishop of Maidstone Stands with Global South Fellowship of Anglicans
The Rt Revd Rod Thomas, Bishop of Maidstone and Provincial Episcopal Visitor for those churches that believe in the complementarian understanding of ordination, told the English Churchman that, “I was glad to read what the GFSA said, and stand with them.”
The Global South Fellowship of Anglicans made a stand against those opposing the biblical position regarding sexual morality by reaffirming their support of Lambeth Resolution 1.10. That resolution was overwhelmingly passed at Lambeth 1998 and remains the official position of the Anglican Communion.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has acknowledged that Lambeth 1.10 is the official position of the Anglican Communion.
That said, he has stated that he will not seek to discipline those who have departed from the biblical position.
