In Case You Missed a Real Story
Newspapers in the UK have lately been filled with stories regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The Duke’s book has been launched on the foot of the Netflix documentary about the two and one lurid story has followed another—but there is one story that you may have missed—and it is big.
Due to the sheer volume of reporting, there has been a lot of extraneous details but there is one piece of news worthy note.
You might remember when the Duchess of Sussex was accused of bullying staff in 2018. She vigorously denied the claims from the start and has not back-tracked in spite of the fact that she has a high staff turn-over rate and is dogged by allegations of being a difficult person for which to work.
It would seem likely that the Crown’s position on the matter has been revealed. His Majesty King Charles III awarded a Lieutenancy in the Royal Victorian Order to Mr Jason Knauf. One might logically ask, Who is this Mr Knauf?
According to the Daily Telegraph, Mr Knauf was the Communications Secretary for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018, when he raised the bullying concerns to Prince William’s Private Secretary in order to protect palace staff.
Appointments to the Royal Victorian Order rest solely with the Sovereign.
