What Does Bingo Represent?
Dear Editor,
The much-heralded non-binary Rev. Bingo Allison has said, “I try to get involved in, not just in my religious work but outside it, with the local secular LGBT youth groups. One of the biggest things is just being a visual representation in my community and going into schools, doing assemblies and making a huge difference in normalising it for children.”
I make two observations:
As a heterosexual male with a wife and three children, the Rev. Bingo is hardly representative of the LGBT community.
This curate is presumably admitted into schools on the basis of being a Christian minister and not as a representative of the LGBT community. Why is that invitation being abused to peddle another ideology entirely?
