Death of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

Death of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

1921 – 2021

As befitting one of the most luminary men of the last century, news of the death of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, husband of HM The Queen has filled the airwaves and the pages of most print publications since it was announced mid-day Friday 9 April.

The nation’s sense of grief is almost palpable yet along with the mourning is the comforting and widespread acknowledgement that his was a life of service, well lived.  He put in a good innings.

The English Churchman can say nothing that has not already been said about him.  We pray that HM The Queen has had and will continue to rely upon the “peace that passeth all understanding” as she faces the days, weeks, and months ahead.  We pray that she might not mourn as one without a living hope.  Finally, we pray that others might consider the example set by HRH The Prince Philip and under the guidance of the Holy Ghost and holy scriptures lead a life worthy of the calling of Christ Jesus.
