Diocese of the Arctic Seeks New Cathedral Dean

Any clergy fancy a different challenge in ministry?

The Diocese of the Arctic in the Anglican Church of Canada is seeking a new dean to lead its cathedral in Iqaluit, Nunavik.  The igloo shaped St Jude’s Cathedral is the mother church in a diocese with eight deaneries and fifty-one congregations spread out over one and a half million square miles of northern Canada.

Bishop David Parsons has been bishop of the diocese since 2013.  Both he and the diocese are part of the GAFCON (Global Anglican Future Conference) which is comprised of theologically orthodox dioceses around the world.

Interested clergy may visit the diocesan website for further information.

The diocese gained a higher profile when a documentary (Soul of the Arctic) was filmed about a former suffragan bishop, the Rt Rev’d Darren McCartney.  McCartney now serves as Rector of Kilbroney Parish in the Diocese of Down & Dromore.
