The Importance of Doctrine

The proposed schedule for the 2021 Protestant Reformation Society’s Annual Autumn Conference has been announced. The conference is to be held at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford from Tuesday, 31 August through Thursday, 2 September. The conference is expected to go online if there are further Covid-19 restrictions.

The theme of this year’s event is: The Importance of Doctrine—The Relevance of the Reformed Confessions For Today.” In addition to 7 lectures, there will be times for corporate worship during the conference.

The speakers and their subjects are as follows:

The Articles (1552-1571) presented by The Revd Edward Keene, Little Shelford.
Rome’s Reaction to the Reformation: the Council of Trent (1545 – 1563) presented by The Revd Edmond Coulter, Lambeg Parish.
The Second Helvetic Confession (1566) presented by Pf. Florian Weicken, Zurich Presbyterianische Gemeinde
The Canons of the Synod of Dort (1619) presented by Mr Benedict Bird, Cambridge
The Westminster Confession (1647) presented by The Revd Dr Peter Naylor, Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Cardiff.
The Harmony of the Protestant Confessions presented by Dr Tim Patrick, South Australia Bible College, Adelaide.
The Importance of Doctrine — The Relevance of Reformed Confessions for today presented by Dr Ian Hamilton, Inverness.
